This system allows you to attach a luer lock syringe at the top of the stem and extract liquid mycelium from the bottom of the jar.
Eliminates chance of contamination vs needle extraction methods.
The tubing is purposely clear and is what you want so you can observe the level of LC as you draw it towards the syringe. 
The silicon extraction tube reaches the bottom of a 32 oz canning jar. If your using smaller jars, simply cut the tubing shorter with scissors. 
Will not interfere with magnetic stir plate operation.
Comes with the red stem cap (pictured) that serves as a dust cap between periodic extractions.
